Mount Auburn Hospital is a teaching hospital voted one of the best places to work in Boston by the Boston Business Journal for 2011-2012. The Hematology Oncology Department is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner. The Hematology Oncology practice is a member of the Mount Auburn Professional Services (MAPS) practice groups and is imbedded in the hospital outpatient Oncology clinic area. The NP provides coordination between team members, anticipatory guidance and education for patients and families, as well as psychological and emotional support. The NP has prescriptive authority which includes Schedule II through V controlled substances in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The Nurse Practitioner meets all requirements of both a registered nurse as well as the NP Scope of Practice including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the entire care plan for a complex patient population.
