The nurse manager is responsible for the planning, organizing, directing, and managing resources for designated departments(s) on a twenty-four hour basis. These responsibilities include fiscal responsibility, management of assigned staff, manpower efficiency, monitoring for services, maintaining positive working relationship with staff and other hospital and network departments and managers. The Manager is accountable for continuous personal growth and development as well as encouraging and/or providing opportunities for staff to gain skills. The Manager demonstrates interpersonal skills, computer literacy, acuity knowledge, problem identification and resolution abilities and interacts with others consistent with the Core Values of the Mercy Health Partners (MHP). The Manager collaborates across the MHP network to achieve standardization of assigned functions and responsibilities. The Manager demonstrates effective communication upward, downward, and laterally.

Development of program schedules and coordination of staff to implement them.
Coordinates interdisciplinary care and treatment plan in conjunction with staff, attending physician, other disciplines, the resident and their families and/or significant others.
Participates in committees as request by the Director of Nursing of Executive Director.
Supervises personnel with defines expectations as outlined in competency checklist.
Participates in education, training and orientation programs to contribute to increased understanding of nursing care/assisted living care.
Attends continuing education conferences, workshops and classes in order to maintain knowledge, skills and licensure.
Oversees safety issues and promotes a safe and supportive environment.
Performs all duties for the unit(s), including but not limited to budgeting and staff supervision and management.
Promotes and maintains appositive interpersonal/interdepartmental relationships.
Contributes to the achievement of the facility, department and Mercy Health goals. Objectives and mission.
Coordinates and evaluates educational opportunities for growth of self, staff and residents.
Participates and supports infection control policies and procedures.
Recruits and selects personnel.
Completes performance appraisals as directed by the Director of Nursing.
Demonstrates and promotes awareness of patient right and ensures that awareness is demonstrated by staff. Ensures confidentiality of patients/residents/clients and employees is maintained.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize responsibilities according to unity activities and staffing needs.
Supervises, delegates and coaches personnel on assigned shift, and makes rounds and maintains knowledge of each patient.

Hours:Full-Time, 40 hours a week, 0800-1700, on call weekends
