Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
This position is a unique opportunity to combine clinical oncology nursing expertise with a focus on quality assurance. Primary responsibilities include the review and integration of content from the NCCN Chemotherapy Order Templates into electronic health record (EHR) systems, serving as the main point of contact for NCCN licensed systems, and developing new or managing existing project plans. This work is completed in collaboration with NCCN staff oncology pharmacists, nurses, medical informaticist, and IT department. Other responsibilities include developing content integration solutions, contributing to the NCCN Chemotherapy Order Template update and review process, and project management. This position requires minimal overnight travel.
Work with NCCN staff pharmacists in review of NCCN template content in other electronic systems
Review, edit, and update NCCN Chemotherapy Order Templates based on recommendations for chemotherapy found within NCCN Guidelines
Learn and use custom software system designed for template publication and maintenance; keep accurate and transparent records of all edits and changes to order templates
Manage workflow for department projects
Respond to patient and professional inquiries related to the NCCN Chemotherapy Order Templates
Perform other related duties as assigned
RN with 10+ years of clinical oncology experience, including 5+ years of infusion center experience. BSN and OCN strongly preferred.
Previous participation in implementation team for chemotherapy orders in electronic systems a plus
Project management or oncology health information systems experience a plus
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have extensive clinical knowledge of chemotherapy administration across a broad range of oncology disease types and drug regimens
Must be proficient in MS Office products and comfortable working in or learning database systems
Must possess strong attention to detail and ability to maintain and prioritize multiple projects
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with internal and external personnel at various levels
