Manager of Nursing Research
Northside Hospital
The NHCI Research Program is one of the largest community based oncology/hematology programs in the South East. It is one of only a handful of community based programs that offers a comprehensive portfolio of clinical trials, including Phase I-III clinical sponsored by Pharma, NCI, Academic collaborations, and Investigator initiated. By combining best practices from community hospitals, private physician practices, and research and teaching facilities, we are able to offer a rare quality of care and clinical expertise that is both in-touch and advanced. Patients are able to benefit from and participate in the latest clinical research in an environment that is close to home. In fact, in 2014 Northside Hospital was awarded a grant by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), as a member of the NCI Community Oncology Program (NCORP), to lead a new cancer research program that aims to reach more Georgians in their own cities and towns, ensuring the best possible patient care services. Through the NCORP network, community physicians are able to collaborate with the NCI Clinical Trials Network Research Bases and Lead Academic Participating Sites on the development of research studies that impact patients in their communities. Through participation in Multidisciplinary disease site research work groups, Physician investigators drive the evaluation and selection of clinical research trials most beneficial to patient populations served. Over 50 experienced Oncologists, Surgeons, Radiologists and Radiation Oncologists participate in NHCI Research. The Research Program is supported by a Central Research Department which provides Budgeting & Contracting, Regulatory Management, Compliance Programs and Internal Auditing, Clinical Research Staff, Training & Education, Research Pharmacy Services and Biospecimen Management. NHCI has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of Nursing Research to join our growing team and program. Additionally, the Manager will ensure the quality and integrity of the clinical research data, and the patient care being provided by the research team.
