Great opportunity for a research curious RN to come and be part of a dedicated team caring for oncology patients - a mix ranging from highly curable to hospice patients. An essential role is advocating for patients, following up, breaking through the red tape surrounding insurance approval of advanced diagnostic imaging studies, all while ensuring no ball drops during a busy clinic day.
Provides and supervises nursing care of Radiation Oncology patients as directed by the physicians within the radiation oncology department. Is accountable for direct and indirect quality patient care. Coordinates nursing care with the radiation oncology team to deliver optimal nursing care. Models professional development as an integral part of nursing practice and acts as a liaison with other health care professionals. Registered Nurse applies knowledge drawn from broad, in-depth education in the social and physical sciences in assessing, planning, ordering, giving, delegating, teaching, and supervising nursing care which promotes the patient’s optimum health and independence. RN must be competent to analyze patient data with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial, spiritual, and chronological maturation process. Performs all duties in a manner that reflects and supports team concept.

Education: High school graduate or GED and graduation from an accredited RN course of study.
License: Current Oregon State RN license. American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred upon hire, and required within 90 days of hire. If not American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certified upon hire, must have current BLS certification through another provider. ALCS certification required within 6 months of hire.
