The MSK Cancer Alliance is an initiative designed to establish partnerships between MSK and local care providers. Through the open collaboration that is facilitated by these partnerships, community cancer caregivers are in a better position to provide state of the art, evidence-based cancer care to improve the lives of cancer patients. Hartford HealthCare has outpatient oncology opportunities available in Hartford, Manchester, Avon, and Willimantic for new and experienced Advanced Practitioners.
Advanced Practitioner Role Scope
Advanced practitioners will provide value based care in an ambulatory setting, and will be involved in triage and the spectrum of outpatient management: urgent visits, chemotherapy pre-treatment visits, follow up appointments, and ongoing survivorship care. An understanding of clinical trials and the ability to monitor patients on protocol is an advantage. Hartford HealthCare’s unique relationship with Memorial Sloan Kettering can offer opportunities for professional advancement. Our ideal candidate will have skills and training in assessment and management of the physical, psychological, emotional, spiritual and social needs of the patient and family. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability of positive interaction with the medical/nursing staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Advanced Practitioner Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred
Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of Connecticut
Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
Oncology and infusion experience strongly preferred
Infusion experience preferred
