Ackerman Cancer Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of highly trained radiation oncologists and medical professionals.
Our facilities in Jacksonville and Amelia Island specialize in the most advanced radiation oncology therapies available for all types of cancer. The interdisciplinary team at Ackerman Cancer Center is professional, compassionate, and dedicated to the highest level of care for patients and their families.
Our team includes Board Certified Radiation Oncologists, Board Certified Medical Physicists, Certified Medical Dosimetrists, Oncology Certified Nurses, Radiation Therapists, Oncology Certified Social Workers and an Oncology Certified Dietician.
Our facilities offer advanced treatments such as IMRT, IGRT, SRS, SBRT, VMAT, HDR Brachytherapy, and AccuBoost Breast Cancer Radiotherapy. We utilize RaySearch treatment planning, MOSAIQ EMR, Elekta Linear Accelerators and a MEVION S250 Proton Therapy System.
We also offer comprehensive diagnostic services for the convenience of our patients. These services include: PET/CT, CT, MRI, mammography, ultrasound and bone density scanning.
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide general nursing care in our clinical oncology setting by performing all required duties in compliance with the Ackerman Cancer Center standard of care.
General nursing care for assigned patients
Monitoring of medical conditions of cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy
Assessment of clinical needs & medication management
Assistance & Consultation with physicians regarding patient care
Provision of patient & family education regarding radiation therapy and possible side effects of cancer treatment
Assistance in patient assessment & intervention
Management of patient navigation and follow up activities
Accurate phone triage for patients
3+ years Registered Nurse (RN) experience in a clinical setting
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Current Florida Registered Nursing License
Strong patient care skills
Excellent Communication skills
1+ year Registered Nurse (RN) experience in clinical oncology setting
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
Monday-Friday with occasional Saturday coverage
Full time/40 hours per week
Rotating 6:00a-2:30p and 9:00a-6:30p shifts
