As an Oncology Registered Nurse Care Coordinator with Banner University Medical Center, you will be part of a multidisciplinary patient-care team, which includes internationally-renowned medical, hematological, radiation and surgical oncologists as well as nurse practitioners, nurse coordinators, research specialists, psychiatrists, social workers, patient advocates, nutritionists, pharmacists and genetic counselors. In addition, as an Academic Medical Center, we take our research from the laboratory to the clinic, offering cutting-edge therapies not available elsewhere, including Phase I Clinical Trials.
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years RN experience, bi-lingual is helpful, and a background in oncology is important to the success of the candidate. In this important role, you will coordinate the initial patient access process, making appropriate referrals and consultations in coordination with physicians and providers. Evaluate the medical necessity, urgency, and appropriateness of care, optimizing patient outcomes. you will collaborate with the patient and referring physician to solicit information needed to determine appropriate physician alignment for consultation.

Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice, temporary RN license in state of practice, or compact RN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice.
Requires knowledge as typically obtained through a minimum of three years of current experience in specialty area. Requires excellent organizational skills, effective communication and writing skills, good time management skills and knowledge of word processing and database software applications. Also requires a good understanding of process improvement.
Bachelors degree in nursing or related field is preferred.
