Full Time Pharmacy Technician- Prior Authorizations Maplewood Cancer Center

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Prior Authorizations for retail prescriptions for all Minnesota Oncology clinics, mainly for Oral Cancer Treatment Prescriptions
Obtain Prescription Financial Assistance for patients from pharmacy programs/grants/foundations
Scanning of daily orders
Adherence checks and refill reminders
Manage reporting in Enterprise RX
Provide cross coverage in Maplewood pharmacy. Duties to include:
Retail prescription processing, filling and record keeping for all medications including chemotherapy and specialty medications.
IV medication preparation including chemotherapy
Record keeping and inventory control
Accurate record keeping
Assist in training other technicians if requested
Additional Pharmacy duties as needed

Strong Basic Mathematic Skills
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Registered with the MN Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician
Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, pharmacy calculations, and related medical terminology
Graduation from VoTech Pharmacy Technician Program desired but not required
Certified Pharmacy Technician Certificate preferred but not required. If not certified at hiring, certification with the first year of employment will be required.
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a pharmacy technician.
IV training/experience a plus but not required; training provided.
