Career Opportunity: Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada is seeking a Polysomnography Technologist to join our Pulmonology team in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. The Polysomnography Technologist performs comprehensive polysomnogarphic evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under general supervision. This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services or patient care and education. In this role, you will work with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful health care organization.
This is a full-time position primarily scheduled for overnight shifts.
The essential functions for the Polysomnography Technologistinclude the following:
Performs a variety of sleep studies in order to diagnose the type and extent of sleep disorders, as directed by a physician.
Collects and transmits biological specimens for analyses.
Performs and records routine patient assessment.
Scores sleep records and documents other test results.
Calibrates and adjusts equipment, including troubleshooting minor problems.
Collaborates with physician and Supervisor on technical issues, equipment performance and QA.
Accurately obtains patient information necessary for procedures and captures polysomnographic data during study.
Documents observations, including sleep stages and clinical events, and performs all necessary intervention to ensure patient safety.
Performs record scoring and maintains standard quality assurance methodology.
Other duties as requested or assigned by supervisor
The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience:
High school graduate or equivalent.
Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Polysomnography Technicians preferred.
Minimum 5 years experience as a Polysomnography Technician.
Current BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist certification or equivalent required.
