Texas Oncology in Addison, TX is searching for a full-time Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN). The hours are Monday-Friday with no call, weekends or major holidays. Under minimal supervision, the Interventional Radiology RN will utilize a combination of training, assessment and technical skills in the accomplishment of their duties in the Interventional Lab and Recovery Room. The position requires the use of hemodynamic monitoring equipment and constant evaluation of the patient*s hemodynamic status and vital signs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Provide adequate pre procedure education and preparation of patients undergoing interventional imaging procedures. -Provide nursing care and discharge education to patients recovering from interventional imaging procedures. -Provide conscious sedation monitoring for patients undergoing interventional imaging procedures and communicates all pertinent information and any interventions to the physician or mid level provider according sedation protocol. -Knowledge of medications, missing of, their uses and administration of in the Interventional Lab. -Practices aseptic technique in all procedures, preps and drapes in a timely manner. -Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching for patient and family regarding discharge planning and education, pain management -Maintains patient protocol, patient procedure log and paperwork specific to implantable devices. -Records pertinent information on the procedure encounter and charges patient appropriately. -Receives inventory and stores all stock, reports par levels to person responsible for ordering. -Restocks Interventional Lab by the end of shift. -Performs other nursing tasks as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred -Minimum of five years nursing experience; OR, ER, ICU, pre-op, post-op, endo and surgery experience strongly preferred -Current or pending CRN (certified radiology nurse) preferred -Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the interventional lab and recovery room -RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing -Current CPR and ACLS certification required -Must maintain continuing education requirements
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent lifting of items up to 50 lbs, walking, bending, reading and the ability to perform these functions while wearing a lead apron. Long periods of time sitting, standing and viewing of video monitors. Ability to transport patients in beds and on stretchers.
