The Mid Atlantic Regional Business office supporting the US Oncology Network, located in Norfolk, VA is looking for two Experienced Insurance Specialists to function as leads in an appeals area. The applicant should have at least two (2) years medical insurance claim resolution experience and a combined 4 years medical revenue cycle experience. The applicant must be CPC certified.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews reports, identifies denied claims, researches and resolves issues, may perform a detailed reconciliation of accounts, resubmits claim to payer.
Recommends accounts for collection or write-off.
Contacts patients to secure past due balances, verify patient demographics and insurance providers, updates information in systems, and documents conversations. Answers patient's payment, billing, and insurance questions and resolves complaints.
Contacts third party payers to resolve payer issues, expedite claim processing, and maximize medical claim reimbursement.
Responsible for [providing guidance to the Insurance Specialist team regarding appeal wording and documentation requirements as well as also being responsible for assigned appeal processing.
Other duties as requested or assigned.
Minimum two (2) years insurance resolution experience resolving issues with patients and payers as well as four (4) years combined medical billing and payment experience required.
Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required.
Demonstrated knowledge of state, federal, and third party claims processing required.
Demonstrated knowledge of oncology medical coding preferred.
CPC Certification required.
High school graduate or equivalent required. Associates degree in Finance, Business or four years revenue cycle experience preferred.
