An ideal candidate will also have excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to collaborate and work in a team based environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for reviewing E & M coding of all specialties through use of electronic medical records.
Maintains review records and responsible for feedback to physicians and advanced practice providers on a 1:1 or group basis.
Participates and supports ongoing education for members of the business office and clinical staff as needed.
Ensures the quality of audit reports and products through the ability to collect, analyze and accurately report data. Examines the effectiveness of internal controls over medical record documentation to support billing activities to ensure company policies/procedures and state and federal guidelines are followed. Recommends improvement to management controls as necessary.
Obtains, analyzes and appraises audit evidence as a basis for informed, independent and objective opinions concerning the revenue or compliance process under audit. Documents audit conclusions relevant to objectives and significant findings.
Assesses site specific procedures to ensure revenue/charge capture and overall regulatory guideline compliance.
Drafts written report in accordance with reporting standards. Ensures all findings, exceptions and proposed adjustments to workpapers are explained or included in reports. Prepares materials for of draft audit reports.
