The Bellevue Medical Center is located in the growing East King County area in the heart of the Bellevue medical district and high tech core. This facility is a state of the art 190,000 square foot building encompassing 20 plus multi-specialty services, including a 24/7 urgent care, outpatient surgery center and sophisticated outpatient diagnostic and treatment services.
By pairing nursing leadership with medical staff in every clinic, we further our goal of ensuring that our clinical and business leaders are engaged directly with front-line staff in the delivery of optimal patient care.
We are looking for a RN with excellent IV initiation skills plus experience with accessing PIC lines and Portacaths. Chemotherapy certification is highly desirable or required within 6 months of hire.
The Oncology Infusion RN provides care to patients receiving treatment in the OIC requiring IV therapy, medications, and chemotherapy within the RN scope of practice. The OIC RN is responsible for assessing, prioritizing, and monitoring of the patient under their care, and providing education regarding therapy and treatment associated with specific medications. The OIC RN utilizes telephone interviewing skills and critical thinking skills in assessing patient symptoms to determine appropriate education and support. The OIC RN remains current with the changing treatments and evidence based care required to effectively care for this patient population. The OIC RN is able to care for adult, adolescent (limited pediatric) and geriatric populations.
The OIC RN is aware of the age specific considerations in delivering care to these populations. The OIC RN cares for these patients in a culturally, spiritually, and ethnically diverse manner realizing that the patient response to illness differs with each individual.
Education Minimum Education Requirements
Graduate of accredited Registered Nursing Program + 3-5 years of experience
At time of hire Current Washington State RN License.
Bio-therapy and Chemotherapy certification required within one year of hire.

Excellent nursing knowledge of disease states and specific treatment combinations.
Ability to recognize and intervene in urgent/emergent situations.
Committed to continuing education.
Excellent IV skills, central line access skills.
Ability to explain treatments associated with biologics, IV hydration and IV antibiotic medications.
Provides excellent nursing care for patients who may have varying degrees of independence.
Demonstrates caring, courtesy, concern and sensitivity in all interactions.
Provides culturally sensitive care including consideration for ethnicity, language, life style, religious and health care beliefs.
Aware of end of life needs of this population and is able to support the individual and family wishes appropriately.
