Manager of Cancer Care

The Manager, Hematology & Oncology provides administrative and operations leadership of the cancer care program of a stand-alone, multi-faceted clinic or multiple satellite clinics of physician practices. Manages clinical team members to ensure quality patient care is performed to include the areas of oncology, hematology, infusion, research and support staff. Manages daily operations of the assigned program/area which includes all administrative, fiscal and clinical/technical activities to ensure high quality health care services. Responsibilities include onboarding new providers and staff to the practice, implementing fee schedules, coordinating patient flow, facilities planning and services, marketing, medical records, and practice operations. Works collaboratively with oncologists, the interprofessional team and the cancer leadership team to provide a continuum of patient care from prevention, early detection, diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and survivorship. Complies with federal, state, and local license requirements to maintain high level of quality standards. Develops departmental initiatives that focus on employee engagement, process improvement initiatives, patient satisfaction, and workplace safety. Acts as a resource and facilitates collaboration between team members and other healthcare disciplines throughout the organization and within the healthcare community. Department/Unit details: The Manager of Hematology & Oncology Services works collaboratively with the Cancer Care service line leadership team, working closely with the Radiation Oncology Manager and the Physician Lead. This position reports directly to the Director of Cancer Care. This role oversees Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC’s), RN’s, MA’s, Research coordinators, Health Care Assistants, Schedulers, and Patient Financial Advocates, approximately 70 staff members total. This role requires a good working knowledge of Joint Commission, COC, QOPI, and CMS requirements. Knowledge of laws, rules and regulations; standards and guidelines of certifying and accrediting bodies; hospital and department/unit standards, protocols, policies and procedures governing the provision of Hematology-Oncology care and Research.
