Responsible for the administration and care oversight of patients with hematologic malignancies and bone marrow transplantation. Accountable for the delivery of quality patient care services and customer service (including patients, staff and physicians). Will lead a team who coordinates ambulatory BMT patient care includes the clinic setting, BMT infusion, long term follow up, financial clearance, cell acquisition (through a contractual relationship with the Blood Connection) and transitions of care from the outpatient to inpatient setting. Relationship development with Director of Nursing and coordination of care transitions is key to program success. Leads all BMT regulatory and compliance parameters set by FACT and works with Cancer Institute clinical quality staff to coordinate quality patient care and outcomes. Performs a variety of Bone Marrow transplant leadership activities within and outside the organization. Partners with the transplant physicians and nurse practitioners through the Medical Director of Bone Marrow Transplant to facilitate the growth of the program.
Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of employees that may include final budget authority, hire/termination/disciplinary authority, performance appraisal responsibility. Job will be considered a member of the management staff with direct reports.
