MCI, in collaboration with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, offers a dynamic and forward-thinking partnership aimed at improving patient access to the latest and most effective cancer treatment advances and the highest caliber of cancer care.
The Blood and Marrow Transplant program at MCI is growing, increasing stem cell transplant options in South Florida for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma and other blood cancers. Performing autologous outpatient transplants since April 2018, MCI is the only outpatient stem cell transplant program in South Florida. In addition, MCI is launching a new state-of-the-art stem cell processing and immunotherapy laboratory. The laboratory will process the stem cell products from donors and remove the T-cells that cause graft-versus-host-disease, thus avoiding a common life-threatening complication of allogeneic transplantation and greatly improving the patient’s quality of life.
