About New Mexico Cancer Center
NMOHC is a private practice whose doctors have a track record of aggressively managing cancer, the side effects of the treatments and the disease so that its patients feel better and get to spend more time at home. As a result of this patient-centered focus, NMOHC is one of a handful of practices in the entire country – and the only one in New Mexico – to receive full accreditation from NCQA as an Oncology Medical Home. NMOHC received this designation because of its commitment to delivering patient-centered care that is easier to access and keeps patients happier, healthier and at home with the people they love instead of sitting in the hospital. Innovation and National Leadership: We are especially proud of having been the nation's lead practice in developing a national model for the Oncology Medical Home to provide better care at a lower cost by pathway-driven expanded outpatient care and keeping patients out of the hospital. This was made possible by the awarding of a substantial grant from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation in 2012. NMOHC has the distinction of being the original "COME HOME" practice, working to pioneer "COME HOME" with seven other community on...cology practices across the country. "COME HOME" became the basis for the current Oncology Care Model, now being adopted by oncology practices nationwide. Wide Range of Onsite Services: Our centers offer the full range of onsite Oncology care, including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, imaging, laboratory and Rheumatology services. The Albuquerque facility is pleased to also offer the convenience of a dispensing pharmacy for our patients.
