Maine Medical Center is seeking a Senior Director – Oncology Quality in Scarborough. The Sr. Director supervises the activities within Maine Medical Center (MMC) and MaineHealth Cancer Care Network (MHCCN) Oncology Information Services team.
The Senior Director provides information management support across all service areas of the MaineHealth Cancer Care Network and is required to track, monitor and report quality indicators and outcomes established by the Oncology Management Team and the MMC/MHCCN Quality Council. The scope of the Senior Director of Oncology Quality includes the MMC and MHCCN Network Registry, quality reporting for the role includes the MHCCN, MHCCN Oncology Program’s Clinical Research infrastructure, system accreditations and regulatory compliance and tumor registry abstracting and reporting.
The Sr. Director will work collaboratively with the Oncology Information Management Team, System Oncology Work Groups, other MMC and Network Departments as well as Maine Medical Partners and independent physician practices to achieve the goals and objectives in the Oncology SL’s clinical strategic plan, while maintaining standards for cancer program accreditation established by the Commission on Cancer. The Senior Director is also accountable for regulatory and accreditation initiatives for both MMC and the MHCCN, including ACOS, COC and Alfond reportable metrics. This Director will work collaboratively with the Oncology Management Team to identify opportunities for collaboration on regional and state levels on mutual goals and objectives for comprehensive cancer control.
BS degree in biology, physiology or related field; RN preferred.
Five years of cancer registry experience including supervisory/management experience preferred.
Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation guidelines, COC, ACOS, NAPBC and various data registries.
Knowledge of statistical research, data collecting methods and presentations.
Knowledge of computer hardware and software and their operations.
Strong understanding of quality data reporting and analytics; measurement tools and quality programs.
Knowledge of medical practices and procedures as applied to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
Ability to engage with and partner with physician team members and senior leadership.
Ability to work independently and make decisions according to established guidelines.
Ability to formulate and implement policies, systems and procedures.
Ability to provide effective leadership and to plan, assign, direct and evaluate the work of subordinate employees.
Ability to carry out short and long term research projects.
Ability to adhere to hospital and departmental rules pertaining to patient and physician confidentiality.
