UT Southwestern has opportunities for Inpatient and Outpatient Nurse Practitioners. The ideal candidate will have experience in BMT including; performing bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, central line removals, and the use of a Ommaya Reservoir. The Nurse Practitioner will perform physical examinations and will develop a plan of care for patients with a malignant hematologic diagnosis, interpret all test results, and present evaluations and recommendation to the attending physician as appropriate. Provides relevant counseling and education to patients and family. New grads must have previous RN experience with BMT Hematological Malignancies for consideration.
Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
Current Texas (or compact state) license with recognition by the BNE as an advanced practice nurse if nurse practitioner
Acute Care Certification required (both inpatient and outpatient)
Current ACLS by the American Heart Association required
Previous Bone Marrow Transplant as a provider preferred
