The Registered Nurse is responsible for the outpatient delivery of patient care by utilizing state-of-the-art knowledge and the skills of assessment, planning, intervention(s), and evaluation. The RN will be expected to perform peripheral and central venous access for the successful administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy and IV fluids. The RN facilitates scheduling as well as pretreatment preparation, chemo teaching, supportive care, follow up care and the triage of side effects as needed. The RN must have a high level of compassion, patience and coordination in order to be effective.
