University of Minnesota Medical Center is the flagship location for University of Minnesota Health, this position will work on the East Bank campus in Minneapolis which serves an all adult patient population.
This location offers the widest range of hospital and clinical services provided through University of Minnesota Health. Complete services range from primary care, emergency care and provide care to patients with the most complex conditions.

This is position works every weekend 72 hours every 2 weeks on, plus weekend as needed. This position is benefit eligible.
Demonstrates the ability to establish an environment of safety for the surgical patient
Implements protective measures prior to operative or invasive procedure.
Confirms identity before the operative or invasive procedure
Verifies operative procedure, surgical site and laterality
Applies safety devices
Implements protective measures to prevent skin or tissue injury due to thermal, mechanical, electrical and chemical sources.
Performs required counts.
Manages specimen handling and disposition.
Demonstrates the ability to assess, diagnose, implement and evaluate treatments and procedures that contribute to the physiological stability of the surgical patient.
Applies principles of aseptic technique while establishing and maintaining sterile fields
Performs skin preparations
Ensures perioperative environmental sanitation
Monitors for wound contamination
Classifies the surgical wound
May serve as a circulator or scrub during operative procedures. Demonstrates knowledge about the psychologic, sociologic, and spiritual responses of patients and their families to the operative or other invasive procedure.
MN RN licensure required
Minimum of 1 year OR RN experience, or completion of an approved Periop 101 program, or approved student experience or 2 years experience as a Surgical Technologist
