Here is some of what you can expect from being an OR Charge RN with us:
The Charge Nurse demonstrates advanced knowledge, skills and understands the unique aspect of the population served in the care of his/her patients.
Each service also requires specialized skills.
The delivery of care is based on the physical, psychosocial, cultural, safety and learning needs of the individual patient.
The Charge Nurse may rotate to areas other than his/her assigned service area/s, and will perform only those duties for which he/she has demonstrated competency.
The Charge Nurse performs delegated duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at SMC.
The Charge Nurse Role incorporates all of the RN position as above, and includes the additional responsibilities of directing shift operations with schedules, assignments and coordination of resources.
What qualifications you will need:
Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multi-state Registered Nurse license.
Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. BSN preferred.
Minimum of one year as staff nurse in Operating Room acute care nursing required.
