This is a full-time Monday-Friday position with no weekends, call, or major holidays. The ideal candidate for the Nurse Manager will have the following background and experience: - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Minimum five years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience.
- Minimum two-three years of leadership experience.
What does the Nurse Manager do?
The Nurse Manager will work in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Director of Nursing Services, if applicable, to provide nursing support for operations to existing practice locations and newly acquired practices by consulting and advising clinicians on best-practices, implementing of/providing education and training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
The essential duties and responsibilities: - Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives
- Collaborates with practice management to provide support on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative site assessments, Advancing Care Information, the Oncology Care Model (OCM), and other special projects as assigned.
- Facilitates the implementation and/or utilization of outcomes data and evidence-based practices
- Facilitates implementation of standardized best practices within the organization.
- Ensures practice standards of care are consistent with community standards of care.
- Ensures the incorporation of clinical evidence into existing and newly developed standards.
- Staff Development
- Assess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, current practices in the clinical setting.
- Assists with the development of company-wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime.
- Other duties as assigned.
