UC Davis Health Hematology Oncology Nurse Practitioner Position
The Division of Hematology Oncology, Nurse Practitioner Unit covers multiple services including Outpatient services, Same Day Clinic/Infusion, Inpatient services, Bone Marrow Transplant/Stem Cell Transplant (BMT/SCT) outpatient, and BMT/SCT inpatient.
We provide independent, advanced level nurse practitioner clinical expertise to patients and their families. This includes the management of chronic, stable medical conditions, routine care, acute or critical care, and medical and specialty protocols eg Chemotherapy. This may include procedures.
Nurse Practitioners independently make patient management decisions where appropriate after assessment and interdependent consultation with an attending or other member of the team. They also support and are an expert resources for other health care providers including nurses, residents, and other ancillary staff.
The Division of Hematology Oncology support ongoing education, promotes participation in clinical trials, occasional overtime if needed for patient care, and may require coverage of additional services based on division needs.
At least 1 year adult Hematology Oncology experience.
At least 1 year Nurse Practitioner experience - may be open to new grads depending on division needs
Valid CA RN, NP, NPF, and DEA license by start date
MSN from accredited School of Nursing
National Board Certification
BLS, ACLS, and CITI Certification within 3 months of hire
