PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees daily operation of oncology infusion and collaborates with providers, office staff and BAH to ensure effective patient care
• Develops infusion schedules, ensuring daily staffing needs are met
• Serves as a clinical resource for staff and as a direct care giver to the Bay Area Cancer Center patients
• Rounds with RN staff, providers, and office staff as well as initiating focused rounds when indicated and upon request
• Attends/contributes to staff, physician, and organization-wide committees, as appropriate and as requested (The Joint Commission, Oncology Nursing Practice Council)
• Oversees time and attendance of staff, including initiation of appropriate disciplinary action related to punctuality and absences
• Assists with selection and manages training of department staff
• Establishes, implements, and maintains evidence-based policies and procedures
• Evaluates staff performance
• Accountable for rewarding, mentoring, and coaching of staff
• Collaborates with administrator in documentation and delivery of formal staff evaluations, to establish performance improvement plans  including any subsequent performance improvement plans or disciplinary actions
• Identifies opportunities for improvement in department related to patient care flow and processes
• Collaborates with administrator to develop and implement departmental budgets, including capital and operations  
• Promotes and establishes a culture of safety
• Promotes positive patient experience
• Gathers data needed to evaluate progress toward established quality/performance improvement goals and plansInformation system/EHR super-user:
• The designated EHR point person to support: system users; system/software upgrades; process improvements; patient safety requests; and provides loop closures for submitted help desk tickets
