This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides the leadership, management and vision necessary carry out a patient-centric nursing strategy that delivers high-quality and cost-effective health care consistent with the mission, vision and values of the Institute. As a member of senior management the CNO of the Miami Cancer Institute (MCI) will lead and manage system wide oncological initiatives for the development of high-quality outcomes, standardization of nursing practice and research. This person is an integral executive and plays a key role in the creation of a long term strategy and contributes to the achievement or organizational goals and objectives while maintaining a high level awareness of current trends in healthcare both in acute care and private practice settings.
Knowledgeable of federal and state rules and regulations that affect the provision of patient care. Ensures adherence to regulatory entities, Joint Commission, Agency for Healthcare Administration, CMS, OSHA, HIPAA. Ensures active participation in process improvement throughout the Institute.
Develops a high performance team culture that develops key performance indicators and are held accountable to delivery. Mentors and develops people. Identifies succession planning opportunities with subsequent action.
Participates in long-term workforce planning. Ensures that an adequate number of qualified, competent staff are available to meet patient care needs.

Strategizes and creates innovative care delivery and/or operational models designed to improve clinical services, outcomes, patient throughput, and patient safety.
Works closely and builds credibility with the medical staff to ensure quality of care delivery as well as service line growth. Manages physician expectations as it relates to nursing operations and patient/team member experience.

Bachelor and Masters Degree in Nursing
State of Florida active Nursing License
3+ years of experience as a senior leader in a recognized oncology program
5+ years of experience as a Chief Nursing Officer
10+ years of experience in a nursing leadership role

About Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health
Baptist Hospital of Miami, a part of Baptist Health South Florida, has been providing comprehensive cancer care for more than 30 years. Our staff works with patients in a variety of settings, including specialized cancer care centers for inpatient and outpatient treatments. In 2016 we welcomed the newest weapon in the fight against cancer, the world-class Miami Cancer Institute (MCI) and proton therapy center on the Baptist Hospital campus. As part of our continued growth at Baptist Hospital and Miami Cancer Institute, we will be opening a new 200+ bed tower at Baptist Hospital of Miami. This new bed tower will include a new oncology and blood marrow transplant unit. The outpatient and inpatient transplant programs at Baptist Hospital of Miami and Miami Cancer Institute are an important part of our mission to provide sophisticated, high-quality cancer care to patients here in our region and also those coming from the Caribbean, Latin America and beyond.
