Our practice is continuing to expand and we are seeking a registered nurse to help us continue to provide top notch cancer care in the community! The right person for this role is compassionate, patient-centered, have great attention to detail and be willing to learn on a daily basis.
As part of the team, the nurse will provide infusion treatments, education and supportive care to our patients with cancer and blood disorders. The ideal candidate will have:
Excellent physical assessment skills
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to triage patients in person and via telephone
Ability to independently attend to details, prioritize and complete multiple tasks
Ability to problem-solve and critically think
Excellent patient teaching skills
Proficiency in venous access of all types, especially central venous catheters (port-a caths)
Oncology experience preferred but will train the right candidate
Candidate must have a nursing degree (Baccalaureate, Associate or Diploma) from an accredited school of nursing and be currently licensed to practice in the State of Virginia.
Basic Life Support certification within three months of hire and chemotherapy certification required within 90 days of employment.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday through Friday.
+1 year of nursing experience preferred
Active RN license to practice in Virginia
