Clinical Manager - Oncology Outpatient Care Maine Medical Center Scarborough, ME Full Time - Day Shift
Maine Medical Center is recruiting for an exceptional manager to lead our amazing teams in the Outpatient Clinics (Breast/ Thoracic) in Scarborough. Nurturing this high touch team requires strong and creative leadership to coach, teach, empower, and support staff that are caring for oncology patients. Working with the Clinical Director and the Administrative manager we will strengthen our patient experience through the continuum of care and expand our multidisciplinary clinics.
The direct responsibilities include day to day operational needs such as staffing / clinic operations; coordination of patient care; staff orientation and competency assessment as well as process improvement.
The ideal candidate will have surgical experience, excellent communication skills, and strong leadership skills that drive employee and provider engagement to improve quality. Oncology certification or eligibility is desired. Ambulatory experience is a plus.
Responsible for supervising and overseeing all operational aspects of the clinical department, including clinical services and staffing needs.
Responsible for coordinating the clinical workflow in order to provide the most efficient, effective, safe, and comprehensive patient care.
Works with physicians, midlevel providers, and clinical staff to increase the volume of clinical outpatient services, referral process, patient flow, and maximize the productivity of each practice location.
Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure. Current BLS certification.
Five years of experience in the nursing field. Supervisory/managerial experience preferred. Experience working with computers.
Oncology certification or eligibility is desired. Ambulatory experience is a plus.
Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and standards, medical procedures, tests, and clinical/clerical skills necessary to perform all functions and assist physicians. Knowledge of pharmacology is desirable.
Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and other health care providers.
Analytical ability sufficient to identify patients at risk and initiate appropriate action.
Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families, and to plan strategies for managing these situations when they arise.
Analytical ability required gathering and interpreting information necessary to resolve problems in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
