Overview
Morristown Medical Center is currently seeking a Part-time 15 hour/week Nursing Coordinator in the Oncology Research Department.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
*Ascertains that pretreatment and eligibility requirements of the protocol have been met including a completed informed consent obtained prior to registration. Responsible for the patient receiving a signed copy of the consent form.
*Consistently uses discretion and judgment as an RN to determine the steps to be taken in the patient's care and treatment and discusses all clinical information, necessary steps and guidelines with the treating physician as it pertains to the clinical research protocol.
*Reinforces explanations of clinical trials to patients, significant others and personnel.
*Reports adverse events and completion of required forms.
*Maintains current knowledge of protocols, eligibility requirements, and amendments.
*Assists and oversees pathology and other lab materials and appropriate forms are submitted as required.
*Obtains data from outside sources (physician offices/hospitals) as needed for data collection and submission and ensures completeness, accuracy and compliance of all case report forms.
Qualifications
Education:
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid New Jersey Nursing License required
- BLS Required
- OCN and/or CCRC preferred
Experience:
- Minimum five years oncology and/or research nursing experience
