The
Licensed Practical Nurse, under general supervision, provides general nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Maintains efficient patient flow, assists with patient care, i.e. vitals, assessments and procedures. Maintains physicians schedule and performs miscellaneous tasks assigned by physicians. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities: - Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
- Records patient data prior to each physician visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Performs other administrative duties, i.e., scheduling, chart preparation, reception, etc., as requested by supervisor or physician.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience: - High school graduate or equivalent.
- Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
- Requires a minimum of five years experience as a practical nurse in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
- Current CPR certification required.
