Job Summary:
Works with the Department Director to assure the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients on specified units and specified shifts. Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel commensurate with their scope of practice. The DOU Charge Nurse follow established guidelines by the AACN in accordance with hospital and unit policies and procedures.

Training and Experience:

Mandatory:

• Current CA RN license
• Current BLS Certification
• Current ACLS Certifications
• Completion of a Critical Care/Pharmacology class (Proof of course may be based on years of past experience in the Critical Care setting)
• Successful completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Course (Proof of course may be based on years of past experience in the Critical Care setting)

Preferred:
Previous experience as Critical Care or DOU Charge Nurse
