The role you’ll contribute:
The Radiation Oncology office nurse demonstrated a cancer specific knowledge base and clinical expertise in cancer care to provide nursing care to patients receiving Radiation Therapy under the direction of the physician and/or nurse manager in compliance with established standards and protocols of the practice and AdventHealth goals and objectives.

- Functions independently and interdependently with the radiation oncology team in providing quality patient care.
- Provides safe and effective patient care under direction of the physician and/or nurse manager.
- Performs but not limited to:
- Initial and ongoing assessment
- Preparing charts for evaluation and management visits
- Charting radiation induced toxicities
- Obtaining ICD 10
- Assist with procedures
- Multidisciplinary meetings
- Execution of MD orders
- Continuum of care
- Performs diagnostic and therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician and utilizing guidelines established by AdventHealth.
- Schedules patients for procedures, diagnostic testing or specialists, as directed by the physician.
- Insert IV access for radiation testing and order stat lab work, as ordered by the physician, during the patient visit.
- Documents patient information per visit encounter(s) in multiple electronic medical records.
QualificationsThe expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Computer proficiency required.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in IV access
- Epic knowledge Preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience
- Oncology nursing experience Preferred.
- Oncology Certification Preferred.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
- Current Florida Registered Nurse licensure required.
- BLS/CPR certification required.
