We are looking for a Telephone Triage - Registered Nurse that focuses on bringing understanding and peace to patients and their families during what may seem like a confusing and challenging time.

Address patient calls, portal messages, and respond to emails in a timely and professional manner.
Ask open-ended questions while utilizing computerized algorithms/pathways to assist in the assessment of the patient's symptoms and/or side effects with focus on addressing swiftly and appropriately.
Determine if emergency care is needed collaborate with physicians via electronic, face to face or telephone communication to discuss patient care needs that are not able to be independently addressed using standard orders or practice protocols.
Manage symptoms to prevent unnecessary emergency department and hospital utilization.
Collaborate and partner with providers if the patient is able to be seen in an outpatient clinic setting to address symptoms.
Document all conversations with patients to ensure an accurate and comprehensive medical record.
Provide clear and concise instruction and education to patients over the phone providing educational documents as needed.
Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 3 months of hire.
Current RN state license with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
Three (3) to five (5) years nursing experience is required.
What You Bring to the Team:
BSN and oncology experience is preferred.
Experience and knowledge of the purpose and use of medications in the treatment of cancer is preferred.
Demonstrate knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
Demonstrate awareness of community resources available to patients and assist with referrals if necessary.
Maintain current knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.
