Redeemer Health, in partnership with MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper, is seeking an Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) - Gastro Intestinal (GI ) / Solid Tumor Nurse Navigator to act as a resource for patients and their families confronting a cancer diagnosis and to the community in providing health awareness, proper screening and risk behavior modification guidance. Through the use of education and assessment tools, the ONN serves as a central point of contact for identified patients confronted with cancer, facilitating their access to services provided within our health system, resources available through the community or service agencies, providing education regarding cancer treatment, symptom management and long-term survival issues. The ONN will work collaboratively to coordinate patient care needs across the continuum, providing a central point of contact for the patient and clinicians involved in the care regardless of setting. The ONN will serve as the facilitator for cancer education programs, support groups and other patient related support programs.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Oncology or related cancer field
• Previous experience as a Patient Coordinator or Nurse Navigator preferred
• Chemotherapy and IV certifications preferred
• Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills, Effective Public speaking and presentation skills required
• Proficient in use of personal computer programs including word, power point, excel and data management programs preferred
• Specialty certification OCN/AOCN and/or Patient Navigation preferred
• BLS certification required
• Membership in the Oncology Nursing Society or similar Professional organization is preferred
