Supervisor of Nursing Services
Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center is searching for a delightfully determined, crusading-ly compassionate Supervisor of Nursing Services to oversee the Infusion team at their Eugene, OR clinic. This individual will take part in team-schedule maintenance, hiring and staffing interviews, review clinical policies and procedures, staff training, and much more. 5 years of nursing is required, with at least 3 in Oncology. Responsibilities
Oversight for infusion nursing activities at multiple sites. Ensures all licensing and certification criteria are met. Assists Manager with the review and revision of clinical policies and procedures.
Coordinates adequate staffing for assigned nursing schedules. Maintains effective nursing staffing levels. Leads the interview and hiring process of nursing personnel.
Performs tasks assigned to staff nurses as necessary.
Ensures clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives.
Coordinates education and competencies for nursing staff in correct procedures.
Staff development staff retention and training programs with support for clinic leads and in coordination with Nursing Manager, coordinates, implements, and assists with staff training, in services and internal developmental programs for nursing staff.
Conducts annual performance evaluation for infusion nursing department staff.
Serves as mentor/preceptor and provides day to day guidance to less experienced nurses.
Arranges and leads all monthly team meetings.
Actively manages workplace conflict under the direction of HR and Nursing Manager
Maintain nursing schedules and timecard record keeping.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred.
Minimum five years actively practicing as a registered nurse; prefer at least three years oncology experience.
One year supervisory experience preferred.
RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.
Current CPR certification required.
Current or pending oncology certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
Large percent of time performing computer-based work is required.
