SUMMARY OF POSITION: Penn State Health is seeking a qualified Physician Assistant to join the Hematology Oncology department and Penn State Cancer Institute. This individual will work in collaboration with other Physicians and APPs within the department in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. The APP will be required to work the inpatient hospitalist service caring for both solid tumor patients and bone marrow transplant service and will also assist in the outpatient Infusion Center and Acute Care Clinic. The APP will perform various procedures including bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, skin biopsies, stem cell transplant, and intrathecal chemotherapy. Prior hospitalist medicine experience is preferred but not required. APPs will get to enjoy a flexible work schedule with a very supportive team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of Pennsylvania required.
National Certification in Pennsylvania or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in Pennsylvania required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Relevant experience preferred.
