St. Luke's Cancer Institute seeks a nurse to join the radiation oncology team in a float position. The radiation float position will support radiation and medical oncology triage and provide coverage as a primary RN for the radiation oncologists. Radiation oncology spans all SLCI sites in the Treasure Valley, and this position may require travel to other sites to support the team. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to manage complex patients by coordinating care, following up after appointments, and educating patients and their families. This position is responsible for assessing patient needs over the phone and in person. Excellent critical thinking and assessment skills will be required to evaluate patients of all ages receiving radiation and medical oncology treatment.
This RN is a keystone to the complex, high-quality, compassionate care that Idaho has come to expect of our organization. It will be essential to promote a positive patient experience with compassion and kindness while integrating technical skills, scientific knowledge, and a caring attitude both in the clinic and through the triage process to aid those living with cancer and their families. This RN will be integral to our radiation oncology patient's care, starting from diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and end of life. To be successful in this role, an oncology background is helpful.
This is a full-time position, 0.9 FTE (8-hour shift x 9 days per pay period). The Cancer Institute is closed on weekends and St. Luke's recognized holidays. We look forward to meeting you!
