JOB SUMMARY:
The Outpatient RN provides direct patient care, administers medications, educates, collaborates, and counsels patients and families. The Outpatient Registered Nurse assesses physical, psychosocial, and learning needs of patients and families. The nurse will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records and record patient' medical information and vital signs. The RN will consult and coordinator with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Associate's degree in Nursing
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
Basic Life Support (BLS)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
 One (1) year of RN experience preferredÂ
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferredÂ
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:Â
Excellent written and oral communication skillsÂ
Ability to lift 25 pounds Occasional kneeling, pushing/pulling and reachingÂ
Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipmentÂ
Ability to deal courteously with patientsÂ
Ability to maintain effective working relationship with other employeesÂ
Assists patients to achieve the maximum level of functioning by coordinating resources on the multidisciplinary team such as the dietitian, social worker, navigator, and outreach coordinator
Ability to communicate with members of the multidisciplinary team with written and verbal proficiencyÂ
Ability to coordinate patient care with other interdisciplinary staffÂ
Proficiency in clinical management of complex patientsÂ
Flexibility and multitasking skillsÂ
Strong ability to use data, computer systems, and electronic health records in support of patient care deliveryÂ
Understanding of the latest evidence-based oncology, immunology, pharmacology, community health, and cultural sensitivity information
