Opportunity:
The William E. Kahlert Regional Cancer Center, a fully accredited program by the Commission on Cancer, has an exciting full-time opportunity for an accomplished CRNP to join a Medical Oncology/Hematology practice specializing in the treatment of cancer, blood disorders and malignancies. The William E. Kahlert Regional Cancer Center is a program of LifeBridge Health’s Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and is located at Carroll Hospital, a LifeBridge Health Center, in Westminster, MD. Along with the Kahlert Cancer Center, Carroll Breast Health - a NAPBC certified program, is located at Carroll Hospital. The Carroll Regional Cancer Center Physicians, LLC, provides professional outpatient oncology/hematology services to patients at the cancer center and provides on-call consultation services to inpatients at Carroll Hospital. The qualified candidate will work closely with our board-certified Medical Oncologists in the outpatient setting and share call rotation. Candidate will be responsible for seeing visits in the outpatient clinic, ensuring patients are cleared for treatment in the infusion center, and completing inpatient hospital consults as needed.
Desired Candidate:
Ability to provide comprehensive care to a designated patient population.
In collaboration with physicians, will perform physical and psychological patient assessments, diagnose, and treat episodic illnesses.
Order and interpret laboratory, radiological, diagnostic studies and other procedures such as bone marrow biopsies (opportunity to add this procedure to skill set once employed).
Provide oversight of the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products and supportive therapies.
Coordinate and communicate all aspects of care with patients/family and the healthcare team.
Knowledge and familiarity with oncology research and clinical trials to support a robust oncology research team.
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in ambulatory and inpatient hematology/oncology practice and Oncology infusion.
EDUCTION/TRAINING: Nurse Practitioner with a master’s degree in Nursing or Science.
CERTIFICATION: CPR, BLS and DEA Certified. Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) preferred or obtained within 2 years of employment.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses and Certified as a Nursing Practitioner in the State of Maryland.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients/families, as well as staff and physicians. Excellent clinical knowledge base in oncology. Demonstrates strong leadership skills and the ability to function independently. Experience with a team-based care model for Oncology services.
