MaineHealth is currently hiring Registered Nurses to join our Cancer Care team at Pen Bay Medical Center. The Cancer Care Center at Pen Bay offers a comprehensive range of services for cancer patients, including treatment, support, detection, diagnosis, education, and counseling. By providing these services, the center aims to deliver high-quality and up-to-date cancer care while ensuring that patients can receive treatment close to their homes.
For a limited time MaineHealth is offering up to a $10,000 Sign on bonus for all eligible experienced Registered Nurses with 0-2 years of experience and $20,000 for experienced Registered Nurses with greater than 2 years of experience!
Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time RN position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem and temporary hires are ineligible.
Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
Position Summary
The Registered Nurse role provides high quality patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient outcomes. Collaborates, delegates, and communicates with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal care. Coverage may require providing infusion services (both chemotherapy/immunotherapy and non-oncology); telephone triage, RX refills; Chemotherapy education, Examination/Clinic RN to manage patient needs, symptom control, arrange appointment and scheduling needs.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nursing School; BSN preferred
Licenses/Certifications: Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
Experience: One year of recent RN experience preferred
Experience (Float positions):
Minimum of three years’ oncology experience and at least one year of adult ambulatory oncology.
Required ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certification
Required OCN or obtain OCN within the initial 12 months of hire.
