Registered Nurse - Chemo Specialty Clinic
Chemotherapy Registered Nurse provides compassionate care to veterans with oncology and basic infusion needs that can be handled in an outpatient setting. Nurse is responsible for safe delivery and monitoring chemotherapy cancer treatment medications according to policy and following NCCN guidelines. Nurse works closely with oncology provider and other members of veteran's health team to provide wholistic care and is also responsible for providing a variety of other non-chemo infusions. Duties include: Provides high risk IV infusions such as chemotherapy, blood and blood products, and other non-chemo infusions Nurse must be competent in placing, accessing, and maintaining port-a-caths, peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC lines) and IVs.
