University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Certified Nurse Practitioner or a Certified Physician Assistant to join our Radiation Oncology team at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.
In This Role, You Will:
- Work in collaboration with radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive radiation care to patients undergoing radiation therapy.
- Engage in comprehensive diagnosis and management of treatment related side effects.
- Complete comprehensive histories and physicals. Provide consultation for total body irradiation, with the consultation of the Radiation Oncologist. Provide consultation for patients with gynecologic malignancies in collaboration with the Radiation Oncologist.
- See patients in follow-up of treatment, review survivorship care plans, review late side effects of treatment and provide recommendations for monitoring. See patients in post-treatment surveillance visits.
- Initiate orders for symptom management and supportive care, including intravenous fluids, medications, and transfusions.
- Provide inpatient consultation and follow-up for new or established patients admitted at the University of Minnesota Medical Center Hospital, in collaboration with the on-call Radiation Oncologist.
- Virtually see patients one day a week at the outpatient radiation clinic in Maple Grove, if needed.
Schedule:
- Part-time, .75 FTE
- Monday-Friday, varying hours between 7am-7pm
- No Call
We're Looking For a PA or NP Who Is:
- A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Family Nurse Practitioner training program.
- Eligible or is certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
- Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP's).
- Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
