ChristianaCare is looking for a motivated part-time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in support and work in collaboration with our Oncology Hematology (CCOH & MOHC) Practices, Christiana Care Hematology (CCH) including the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit on our inpatient Hematology/Oncology Unit. The chosen candidate will work closely with the attendings in the Hematology/Oncology groups and the Christiana Care Hospitalist Group (CCHP) to provide direct patient care for all patients on the Bone Marrow transplant and 6E units.
Flexible Scheduling: 16hrs per week with optional shifts
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides clinical support to Christiana Care in inpatient settings. Adheres to all regulatory and organizational nursing policies and procedures to deliver excellent patient care. Works collaboratively with the clinical team, social workers, pharmacists, family members and others to ensure safe and seamless transitions of care.
Visits newly admitted patients in a timely fashion per department policy.
Upon request of CCHP/Hematology/Oncology physician, performs admissions and cross-coverage inpatients.
Upon request of CCHP/Hematology/Oncology physician, collaborates with that physician, subspecialists, RNs and other members of the health care team to provide direct patient care.
Establishes priorities based on patient needs and act on these accordingly.
Individualizes medical care plan and transition of care to outpatient setting based on patient assessment.
Provides appropriate patient education and counseling to patient and families in ways understandable to them..
Education and Experience Requirements
Master's degree in Nursing from an Acute Care NP program or Master's degree from an accredited PA program required
License or license eligible in the state of Delaware
BLS & ACLS are required
