The Cancer Navigator for Hematology Oncology Section for the Medicine Service is a Registered Nurse for cancer care and refers to support and guidance offered to people with abnormal findings in accessing the cancer care system and overcoming barriers to quality, standard care. The RN/Case Manager/Care Coordinator (Cancer Navigator) is responsible to establish effective patient navigator interventions to reduce or eliminate cancer disparities in clinical outcome related to lack of timely access to quality, standard cancer care. Patient navigation for cancer care refers to support, guidance, and coordination offered to people with an abnormal cancer-related finding in accessing the cancer care system and in overcoming barriers to timely, quality standard care. Navigation spans the period f
