The incumbent is assigned to Oncology Unit/Chemotherapy Suite of the Nursing and Patient Care Service . The incumbent performs basic physical and psychosocial assessment of patients arriving in the Oncology/Chemotherapy or Oncology Nurse Procedure Oncology Clinics. The Nurse practices in a complex patient care setting with minimal supervision. The nurse is accountable as assigned as a primary nurse for care of a defined group of patients on his/her shift or for an entire episode of care. This nurse will be assigned as a preceptor to new or less experienced staff and/or as shift charge nurse or triage nurse. This nurse will be involved in department and hospital wide committees.
